I have been watching this project closely for some time, and have every reason to believe it is going to be as incredible as it seems it will be. They’re doing this one right. No DLC or in-game purchase nonsense, just bringing two of the greatest games of all times up to modern times and a whole lot of cool bonus stuff.
I’ve seen this trailer multiple times and it still gives me chills by the end.
Is it June yet?

When I was in highschool/college, I ran cncgeneralsworld.com with my friend Mike (he started it). We produced 2 huge mods. One called All Stars for Generals Zero Hour that added 2 new sides to the game (Nod and Tiberium) and consolidated the Generals to one side.
The other was another big mod which added a full Single Player campaign to Tiberium from the side of the Mutants.
We went so far as to add actual full motion video for all the missions. The $200 budget shows, haha. That said, it always makes me giggle to see that people record play throughs for youtube.

Oh I had that years ago, I did get the newer one later that has the Japanese floating mech head thing, pretty cool. I eventually got tired of the game so I got the map maker program and I started making crazy maps which was fun for awhile. It’s not an easy program, it wasn’t made for casual people to make maps. But I figured out what I needed to. I like to make big protected areas with one entrance and then I take on like six enemies.

The first two in each series (that is the two being remastered, plus red alert 2 and tiberian sun) are by far the best in the series. The later ones (sounds like you had red alert 3) are okay, and the latest we won’t even talk about.
In short - if you like the genre, definitely give these originals a shot.

I mean, I still play the original releases of these (remarkably they can be coerced into running on windows 10) but don’t expect to see much of me for a while after 5 June.

I’m definitely gonna get this remaster, but I’m really hoping they do Red Alert 2. It is still one of my favourite games and it’s the main reason my Mac still has windows on it these days (previously needed for CAD).
I’d also really like that game ported to mobile so I can play it on my iPad, like I do my other favourite game - Rollercoaster Tycoon (2). If they can figure out a good, intuitive way to control an RTS with a touchscreen that is. Though I guess the iPad has mouse support now so I’d play it either way.

I already pre-ordered the 25th anniversary edition... like an hour or two after it was announced. I suspect that if this remaster does well, they would continue the trend onto Ti berian Su n and RA2 (which would be rad; both are excellent - in fact I was thinking that I haven’t been this excited for a C&C release since I got the phone call from Software Etc informing me that my pre-ordered copy of Tiberian Sun was in!)
